A Texas man is found beaten at an abandoned construction site in Nuevo Laredo.
We're told the 25-year-old victim from Austin was transported to the hospital in serious condition after being beaten up by Mexican federal police.
Daniel Escobar says he was visiting Nuevo Laredo with a female friend from Laredo. Both were coming out of a Nuevo Laredo bar when Daniel was arrested.
Without telling him why, they took him to a gymnasium on the outskirts of town and started to beat him, causing major wounds throughout his body.
A Nuevo Laredo resident passed by the abandoned construction site Wednesday and saw him. He immediately called for help and an ambulance quickly arrived.
Federal police have yet to comment on the situation as the investigation continues.
