Washington’s Birthday Celebration is reaching its peak this weekend after a month long of events. The festivities rolled out one after another with our cameras capturing it all, since the first event, the traditional Abrazo Ceremony. A colorful ceremony sealed with a hug, or as Laredoans call it, “the abrazo”, each year symbolizing continued friendship between us and our neighbors in Mexico. The two children from Laredo, and two from Nuevo Laredo, meeting in the middle of the Lincoln-Juarez Bridge, and the hugs continued with officials from both sides of the border. Dignitaries on the local, state and federal level participating as they have for many years.
