Three Arrested In Connection with Teen's Murder

By KGNS News

The death of a local teenager has now been ruled a murder.
The medical examiner says the teen died of an overdose and police say the case has led to the arrests of three men.
Authorities now seeking justice for a 16-year-old girl found dead near Laredo Medical Center last month.
The body of Nadia Ruby Perez, found slumped over near a tree in the 15-hundred block of San Pedro.
Police say toxicology reports show the teenager had a dangerous combination of cocaine and heroin in her system.
“Allegedly the minor was provided with drugs by the adults.”
The drugs that ultimately caused her death were allegedly provided by 27-year-old John Eric Sotelo, who now faces one count of murder.
Two other men have also been arrested for tampering with evidence.
Police say 44-year-old Gilberto Flores and 28-year-old Simon Misaell Luna were in the vehicle with the teen, when her body was dumped on the side of the central Laredo road.
The men, police say, are all active gang members.
“It is not known if they drugged her. It is known that the drugs were provided to the juvenile and in a state of panic they took to the juvenile from the pace that they were to another location.”
Authorities say the case is a complicated one taking lots of investigation.
“it is hard to follow because you have a victim but cannot speak to the victim to see what happened.”
Police have not released any information on what happened in the hours leading up to the girls’ death. They are still investigating the case.
