The grills were smoking and meat was cooking.
All as 300 Martin Tigers heated up for Border War 2012.
“We are trying to start a tradition of tailgating. This is our second year,” said Ferny Lopez.
The tradition is in the making, but the rivalry between the Martin Tigers and Nixon Mustangs has built up for decades.
Organizer of the Event Shelly Velasquez says, “We have all the classes from 1960s to 1970s, 80s and 90s and the 2000’s are here with us too.”
All ages of alumni rallying up for the big game, even those now parents to a younger generation.
Making it clear, that Martin High motto, forever stands.
“Once a tiger, always a tiger!”
