Several law enforcement agencies worked together to stop a couple of men in a human smuggling scheme. Several law enforcement agencies took part in a human smuggling investigation, yesterday. "I think it's something very common we're at a border town something that happens everyday I'm not from Laredo I'm from Eagle Pass, I see people crossing it's something very common." Along the Bob Bullock Loop several agencies took part in arresting two alleged human smugglers near the Student Activity Complex and what some would call a common event in our city still takes others by surprise. "There is a history in border city, Nuevo Laredo has this problem with drug trafficking and human smuggling so it's alarming for this to happen in Laredo." Five illegal immigrants were detained in total trying to cross into the U.S. that day. Homeland Security Investigators asked not be filmed because they say it would hinder the investigations. "It makes are city more safe and protected homeland security is paying attention to Laredo's problem." The case has been turned over to the U.S. Attorneys Office here in Laredo.
