Two titles have been selected for the third installment of Laredo's “One City, One Book”.
This year's campaign will feature the very first fictional selection, "Into the Beautiful North" by Luis Alberto Urrea. Officials say the book is an earthy tale which brings laughter to a serious subject. The other reading selected uses visual images to enhance the book's message.
"Mr. Mendoza's Paintbrush," also by Urrea is aimed at younger readers.
Officials are hopeful the One City, One Book program will keep the love for books alive in Laredo.
