It’s the event all bands work towards. And today was the day they proved that hard work.
Bands all across town competed in the annual region 14 UIL marching band competition.
This year it was hosted by UISD at the Bill Johnson Student Activity Center.
The district director of fine arts speaks about the importance of the arts within the school.
"It brings out the highest ideals in students. It’s important for them and the communities for the parents support them. It promotes the spirit of sportsmanship,” says Javier Vera.
All UISD high schools received a first division rating. So, they will be moving forward to area competition.
In LISD, Nixon and Martin received a first division, and Ciggarroa High School received a second division.
