Webb County Commissioners, Mike Montemayor and Jaime Canales, hosted the 3rd annual Hero Salute Luncheon at Ceasar’s Reception Hall on Tuesday. This annual event has become a tradition in Webb County to honor all those who have served in every branch of the United States Armed Forces, and their loved ones, for all the sacrifices and devotion to this country. Guests enjoyed lunch and performances by ROTC groups from local high schools including LBJ, United South, and Martin. One veteran at the event said serving for our country doesn't end with the term. "I always enjoy it. I mean I’m a very dedicated veteran. I like to help with the veterans organizations and help my fellow veterans." Eduardo Jaime, who served in Vietnam, also says getting together and reuniting is important for veterans.
