"All of a sudden the street just lifted and water came out."
A major water main broke on Clark blvd. near Ryan Elementary School.
Homes from Arkansas to Martin ave. and Reynolds to Musser st. were effected.
We were the first to arrive even before any utilities or first responders got to the scene.
The break was so so severe that it lifted the bricks from it's foundation spilling over several blocks and workers building a sun screen tried to leave in their truck but couldn't get away in time.
Manuel Vasquez says,"we were working and with all this water the truck couldn't move, and now we are stranded."
The lawn from the house across the street suffered the most damage, water surrounded the house and the owners hope it doesn't get worse.
Home owner, Marisol Ruiz said,"hopefully it doesn't get into the foundation because it's going in, all the back is flooded too."
City Utility workers have fixed the the water main break but the devastation is still left behind.
"literally just, the front yard is practically ruined the grass my plants.”
Orlando Garza asked ,”what are you going to do until then?”
“I don't know," said Ruiz.
City Workers aren't sure what caused the break.
