It’s a follow to a story we brought you last weekend. Residents in Los Botines upset that a company wanted to come into their area to dispose of oil and gas waste by injection. Officials say they backed out after some protest, but not completely. This is the paperwork they advised residents with. It’s a request to the rail road commission to move the water they use in their fracking wells from the Eagle Ford Shale and inject it into the soil in back of this residents Highway 83 property. He gained signatures from his neighbors and shortly after, the county says the disposal company stopped the permit process. But, Salvador Narvaez says there is still reason for concern. We caught up with Webb County officials who have informed themselves of the situation, because it involves their constituants. We asked their Eagle Ford Shale Consultant Jose Ceballos what role the Rail Road Commission plays in overseeing this process of this industry coming into the community. The county says their interest is the public. To make sure they are heard. They plan on speaking with the disposal company very soon.
