And a paving project in another part of town has one colonia anticipating some much needed roads. Out of Webb County Courts tomorrow commissioners are set to discuss the Las Penitas Paving Project, including project start dates, estimated time of completion, expenses and budget. Commissioner Jaime Canales says they’re excited about what the project brings, but needs reports on federal grants that are allowing for that construction. “We want to make sure all parties are doing everything according to law. As you know with federal grants, it’s important we have accountability to make sure we complete the project on time and improve quality of life,” says Commissioner Canales. That and other items are set on tomorrows agenda, including a discussion on a water station at the counties Colorado Acres in hopes of improving service at that site. And discussion on the Webb County Sheriff’s Department gaining interoperability with the city’s trucked voice radio system used by law enforcement.
