Woman accused of shoplifting no longer a TAMIU police officer

By KGNS News

It's an update to a story you found out about first on eight: we told you about Edna Hinojosa, the police officer from TAMIU who allegedly stole two pairs of earrings worth $38 from J.C. Penney.

Steve Harmon, with Texas A&M International University, released a statement regarding the case:

"Mrs. Edna a. Hinojosa is no longer employed by the university. The university has no additional comment."

Store loss prevention saw her put the earrings in her pocket and walk out of the store without attempting to pay for them.

She was arrested for shoplifting and was charged with a Class-C Misdemeanor.
