A local woman has been arrested for allegedly leaving five children home alone. Police say it took hours before the mother would return only to be arrested by officers.
29 year old Veronica Martinez was arrested following an anonymous call to police around 11 last night.
The caller claimed five children were home alone at a house in the 18 hundred block of Salinas.
Police believe the children had already been alone for at least two hours. The officers were waiting for Martinez who police say didn't return to the home until two in the morning.
The ages of the children were not released. Martinez faces charges of abandoning a child with intent to return.
