A woman tries to sell her food stamps on Facebook and it has left many people in the Facebook community angry and wondering how the funds go to people that don't need them.
People weren't happy when they saw government benefits that help the needy sold on line; especially after the events last December when a woman was pushed to the edge just to receive those same benefits.
Michelle Moreno was on line on Facebook when she noticed a post on her page. She says,"it was actually posted on my news feed and it also came out in only in Laredo thats where I originally saw it."
She says she saw a post that read "food stamps for sale,”something that made her livid.
"When we see something like this posted "food stamps for sale" it's a slap in the tax payers face,” said Moreno.
Michelle says food stamp benefits could have gone to people that really need them.
Last December a mother, who desperately needed food stamps, did not receive help from Texas Health and Human Services even as their living conditions were unbearable.
She subsequently ended her life and the lives of her children.
“in my eyes that lady got pushed as far as her limit, she literally got pushed over the edge she didn't know what to do and she saw getting food stamps as the only way out."
Michelle hopes that government regulations will someday change. She says,"I believe she should get the jail time she deserves and the government should look into drug testing, visitations, so hopefully in the near future it will prevent food stamps for sale."
