It happened Tuesday in Eagle Pass. Authorities say the teenager Juan Mendez. was driving a truck with a suspicious load. That's when the agent stopped the vehicle. A 15 year old passenger took off running. Mendez tried to do the same and freed himself. Then the agent reportedly shot him twice leading to Mendez's death. His body was brought to Laredo for an autopsy. Customs and Border Protection spokesperson Dennis Smith says the agent has been put on routine administrative leave pending an investigation.
Meanwhile agents found 325 pounds of marijuana in Mendez' truck.
