Webb County officials meet to discuss just what will be done about a webb county assistant fire chief asking for pay for more than 100 thousand dollars in over time. The issue came up at last commissioners court meeting where Jose Luis Flores claimed he worked 3 thousand 5 hundred and 23 hours over scheduled time from December of 2010 to December of 2011. In the recent meeting the County Attorney, Ana Laura Cavazos ,confirms they agreed to approve 134 hours that Flores is refusing to accept. Now the matter will be taken before commissioners court once again.. This is what Commissioner Jaime Canales had to say about the matter. Canales said, "It's mind boggling to have someone for so long, any other employee would have reported it. I mean any other employee you work extra hours you want to get paid that extra hour thats weird it took seven months to report to Commissioners Court". Flores would have worked 20 hours a day for nine months. Canales says he's positive both the county and Flores can come to an amicable agreement.
