12-12-12 Has Couples Tying The Knot

If you haven't noticed today is 12-12-12.
A day that's very lucky to some people, especially those looking to get married.
12-12-12 has some people running to the courthouse to get married around the country, but what about right here in Laredo.
We spoke to someone who issues marriage licenses who says people in Webb county are also taking part in the lucky day.
Take a look at your calendar and you might notice something similar, the fact that's today is a triple date. December 12, 2012. For superstitious people this is a day to say I do.
"Of course there has been people coming in wanting to get married on this date."
Lopez says people were lining up on Monday to get their marriage license to guarantee 12-12-12 would be their wedding day.
"there is a three day waiting period from the day of issuance of the license."
For those love birds who may have dragged their feet when it came to picking up their marriage license 72 hours ago...NO Need to worry.
"they are able to if of course the judge signs a waiver then they are able to get married today."
And what would a wedding be without a delicious cake? Owner of Cakeland says it's nothing new to have people order cakes on dates other than the weekend.
"I remember when it was 7-7-7 because of the lucky 7's. I remember that day because people wanted to get married."
Ramos says the detail of the cake is what usually takes the longest so it's better to order your cake for that special day in advance.
"They usually come and order months ahead."
If 12-12-12 is your wedding day and you're worried you won't get a cake, Ramos says you're in luck.
"Anybody that decides to can always just come by and we can make them something real quick."
The next time the calendar will show a triple date will be on January 1, 2101.
