An early morning police chase ends with a vehicle plunging into the Rio Grande River and the driver escaping.
Now the dramatic scene continues to unfold, as law enforcement on both sides of the border attempt to recover the vehicle and it's contents.
The chase started at the intersection of Guadalupe and Tapeyste and ended up at Los Dos Laredos Park falling into the river.
As daylight dawned on the scene some tense moments ensued as Mexican Military and U.S. Federal Agents as well as Laredo Police were in a standoff for several minutes with guns drawn.
As of now a dive crew is in route to Laredo from the Brownsville area to check the submerged vehicle and hook it up to a tow crane.
