While football reigns supreme on Thanksgiving, tomorrow will see the unofficial start of the boys high school basketball season with the Border Olympics. All seven Laredo public schools will be participating, as well as 4-2 St. Augustine, who has already beaten both Martin and Cigarroa. There will also be out of town schools from Zapata, San Antonio and the Valley.
All the action is at United High School and will begin at 9:30 with two LISD vs UISD matchups, as Alexander plays Cigarroa and Nixon takes on LBJ. Games will continue through the evening on both Friday and Saturday, with the championship at 6 pm Saturday night.
