Laredo City Council will take the vote Monday, on whether or not to sell a piece of land off Loop 20, known as the Wetlands. Developers want to build a strip mall there. However, enviromentalists say destroying the property will affect the ecosystem and deny citizens of greenery they can enjoy. They hope the city will table the issue allowing more time for parties to come to an agreement on how to better plan the malls layout. Meanwhile, they want the public to attend Mondays, meeting at City Hall Chambers to save the Wetlands. We sat down with Tricia Cortez about the issue.
