While standing in line at the airport, you'll hear many huffs and puffs about certain security measures.
But what if we didn't have security checking what goes on our airplanes?
Everything from basic pocketknives, to a mallet, to a drill bit.
These are just some of the items TSA shows us that were confiscated here at the Laredo International Airport.
All this you see here in the video was just seized over the past six months.
"Wow, from here? Ok, no I've never seen anything like that."
"Our famous answer we get is they forget to take it out of the bag. Sometimes they work with it or they don't use that carry-on for a while and they just grab whatever bag they take."
Some of the more common items are pocket knives, but some of the more unusual items include this bullet here, which turns into a knife, as well as tools, like this saw."
There are also items that look like keys but opens up into a knife.
What looks like a cigar, also is a knife.
Some items had to be shipped off immediately after being taken away, including this loaded gun.
"I'd be really scared, like really scared. I wouldn't fly again."
So what happens to the items after they are confiscated?
"After six months, we collect everything, store them in boxes and we send them over to one of our airports, which is Corpus Christi. Then they make arrangements to have them picked up."
The TSA officers here took all these items away in Laredo, and luckily none of these items made it onto one of our planes.
Before you jump onto your next plane, be sure to go to www.tsa.gov to check on prohibited items.
