Texas public schools will now be adopting new policies this year regarding children's nutrition at school. Laredo Independent School District says they are already ahead of the game. This year all schools that have a snack program will have new regulations. All snacks must contain at least 51% whole grains and also include a fruit or vegetable. Fruit juices can also be offered in place of a fruit as long as it is less than six ounces. These new regulations will go into affect statewide this school year.
