Local Organizations Receive Funds

A local organization held a dinner for 47 area agencies to disburse over 248-thousand dollars.
"tonight is a big day for all the agencies its a big day for us the woman's city club."
Tonight 47 different agencies from groups that advocate for animals to schools gathered to receive a check from the woman city club.
They have been working all year long to raise money for the different organizations around Laredo.
President for Womans City Club Esther Degolldo says,"there are no words to express how great we feel putting in countless hours to volunteering into this organization, it's such a great feeling that we are able to help so many different organizations."
Over 248-thousand were raised to give to organizations like T.M.C, the teaching and mentoring community agency, is using the money to build a shelter and a child focal center.
Mary Capello says a lot of the agencies here tonight are in dire need of, "without the womans city club there would be hundreds of young children who are the victims of divorce who as a consequence aren't able to see their parents like the rest of us are."
Several of the other organizations will use the funds at their organizations own discretion and with the new year the womans city club isn't taking a break they also held a silent auction raising more funds for local organizations.
