The events continue with Princess Pocahontas and her court taking center stage Saturday evening.
The pageant dates back to over a century ago when WBCA’s founding members held a mock battle in front of city hall.
They portrayed Pocahontas's tribe and the city with the princess being the peace maker.
The event has now turned into a homage to the native american culture with costumes, some taking up to a year to make, showing how tribes honored the earth and its elements.
