Many parents take their kids to daycare, especially during the summer while school is out. But there could be a danger lurking, germs! It's not cold or flu season, but germs are prevalent in day cares. "We emphasize a lot on washing their hands because there are germs everywhere." Lupita Hernandez says she loves teaching the kids in her class, and makes sure to have them wash their hands before eating, playing, and after using the restroom. "I enjoy teaching. Everything is fun. I am very happy because everyday they learn something." One thing she's proud to have taught them, a song to sing while washing their hands, which the kids proudly sang for us. A study shows 95% of people do not wash their hands properly. To wash them properly, it takes the amount of time to sing the birthday song twice. With the littlest ones informed about the importance of washing their hands, we decided to hit the streets and quiz Laredoans on how long they wash their hands. Just remember, washing your hands properly can prevent you from getting sick.
