Imagine watching one of your family members get struck by a vehicle and die right in front of you.
A local family witnessed just that a few weeks ago.
Our Lauren Kendrick talked with the widow of the victim .
"You can imagine how we feel...how everyone in the family feels."
A nightmare one woman is willing to re-live in hopes that you may be able to help her and her family.
Maria allowed the police to share this video of her husband crossing the street right before he was hit.
Hoping you may be able to help catch the driver who hit and killed him.
"If the community saw something or knows something please help us and report it."
Here is the video of the car the suspect was driving that night. They say it's a red or maroon Chevy Malibu. Police say there were so many cars driving past the scene that someone had to have seen something.
"Even if it's something remotely small in their own mind, it may be a crucial piece of the puzzle for this investigation."
He says the driver of the Malibu did stop after the initial hit, but then took off.
"Perhaps a neighborhood auto shop or someone who may have been asked a quote to fix the damage to a vehicle."
Currently a shrine sits in the living room where Maria waits to hear news of an arrest. She says all she wants is justice for her husband, and is worried the suspect will kill someone else.
"What can I say? What can I say? In his conscience he knows he will be punished."
If you have information that could lead to an arrest, you could earn a reward of up to $1,000. You can contact Crimestoppers at 795-TIPS.
