A woman in north Laredo loves animals so much she is spending time and money to help them
"this isn't the first place that I've don't this and I've been to plenty of places that people do the same thing" said, Sharon Pyles who has over a dozen cats living around her home.
She says there are so many cats in her neighborhood she has taken it upon herself to subside the cat population.
"if we get to many cats, or any kind of animal around they get sick and when you have so many, diseases spread."
Ms.Pyles has taken her spare time to catch feral cats and have them spade and neutered...spending 200 dollars on the first two she had spayed.
She bought several kennels and puts food to lure them in,"we try to use the crates see they don't like to get in them."
Money isn't an issue when trying to keep animals healthy but some say catching animals on your own isn't a good idea.
Rodolfo Gonzalez from the Health Department said,"we do not recommend that people do catching of stray animals we strongly recommend that they call the office and work with them on that."
Ms. Pyles says she was bit while trying to catch one of the feral cats and she knows people find it odd but she doesn't want diseases to spread.
"It would spread to people's pets too it wouldn't just effect the feral cats, house cats that are in and out so i just want to keep them all well."
