There's no doubt Laredo has lots of good teachers at all grade levels. But once in a while one comes along that goes way beyond the call of duty.

That’s the case with our October one class at a time recipient. Sylvia Tellez is a fourth grade teacher at MS Ryan Elementary who wants to make sure that along with reading, writing and arithmetic comes a love for the environment.

Among those in attendance were L.I.S.D. Superintendent Veronica Guerra, M.S. Ryan Principal Mrs. Munoz, teachers and friends, Ms. Tellez' fourth grade class, along with representatives from our sponsor the Laredo Federal Credit Union, KGNS & Pro 8 News and Your CW's First News at Nine.
