KGNS-TV airs numerous educational informational programs for children and DTV Education. Reports about such programs are required under FCC regulations to be placed in the station’s public inspection file on a quarterly basis. CW Laredo

In September 2006, KGNS-TV announced the acquisition and local broadcasting of the CW network.  With a average age demographic of 33 years old, the CW Laredo, which is broadcast digitally on ch. 8.2, on Time Warner Cable ch. 19 and Dish Network ch. 15 is the ONLY network directly targeting young adults.  In Laredo the median age of the population is 27 years old.  The CW continues to be a real winner!  Boasting some of television’s hottest shows including: “America’s Next Top Model”, “Gossip Girl”, “90210", "Melrose Place", "One Tree Hill”, “Smallville” and others, the CW Laredo has proved it’s here to stay!

On June 23, 2008, the CW Laredo launched Laredo’s “First News at Nine."  With anchor/meteorologist Victoria Marshall who is a laredo native and anchor/reporter Pat Nelson.  Laredo's First News at Nine on the CW Laredo has quickly become a local staple.  In addition to bringing you the "First" look at news and weather in prime-time, Victoria and Pat are also committed to keeping Laredo informed on the community we serve.  Through segments like around the Town, What a Girl Wants and participating in various “Green Initiatives” throughout the year.  Eco-friendliness is a top priority for Laredo’s "First News at Nine!”

Telemundo Laredo
