It was a high school baseball season for the ages and three more honors have been given to Laredo area players. Today the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association released their all-state teams and a pair of UISD athletes made the 5-A first team and one LISD'er made the 4-A second team.
Alexanders EJ Garcia was tabbed as one of the top outfielders in the entire state after hitting a shade under .500 for the season and playing stellar defense. The Bulldog had three home runs while driving in 33 and scoring 27 times himself.
United's Sergio Pollorena also made the cut as one of the top third baseman in all of Texas. The Longhorn hit was instrumental in his teams regional semi final run hitting .330 for the season while belting four home runs and driving in 26 runs.
Finally in the 4-A list, Cigarroas Jose Luis Flores was tabbed on the all state second team for third base. The Toro raked at the plate hitting for a .474 average and had an on base percentage well over 500 at. 560. Both Flores and Garcia will participate in the all state game later this week in Round Rock. Congrats to all three young men on achieving this great honor.
