Last month the TAMIU Athletic Department began a search for a replacement for their Men's Head Basketball Coach Stephon Leary who resigned....
The search comittee narrowed their choices down to two candidates for interviews.
This afternoon one of the two finalist, Shane Rinner interviewed and toured the campus.
Rinner who has been the associate head coach at the university of Alaska in Anchorage for the last six years talked to Pro 8 Sports about why he is interested in the TAMIU position...
“They called me and started to talk to me about it and I really was intrigued...I think the biggest thing, is that it is an opportunity to come and build something special in a community and it parallels my situation in Anchorage a little bit, a small community who really loves athletcis.”
TAMIUS second candidate, Timothy Cleary will be on campus tomorrow for his interview and tour....
