Cops and firefighters hit the basketball court

By Ray Gomez

Laredo's Finest and local firefighters took to the hard-court at TAMIU earlier this evening.

It was all part of the Guns N Hoses basketball game to raise funds for the university's athletic department.

A live auction of sports memorabilia greeted those in attendance.

Items like a football signed by Cowboy's quarterback Tony Romo and a baseball signed by Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher were up for grabs.

Hundreds turned out for the big game.

Even Laredo Police Chief Carlos Maldonado did a little dribbling tonight.

Firefighters were looking to avenge their loss to the men in blue when they meet on the football field earlier this year.
