Sabas Zapata says new guys get the back seat

By KGNS News

The newly formed Laredo Pony League went before city council asking for support for upcoming tournaments. Richard Rosas, president of Laredo Pony League, said tournaments could bring up to 180 teams to the gateway city. Sabas Zapata, director of little league district 34, argued that a tournament of that scale was impossible with Laredo's current facilities. He also urged the city council not to show any preferential treatment to a league that is only in its first year of existence. The council passed a motion promising support to all Laredo's youth organizations.
