It was a proud day for Jose Gonzalez and his family as he signed a letter of intent to play tennis for Laredo Community College. Gonzalez is a 2012 graduate of Alexander High and has been playing tennis for over a decade but says he started taking the game seriously about seven years ago. The newest Palomino added staying close to home and adding to LCC's tennis history was just too much to pass up.
"The fact that it is here in my hometown and there are seven national championships. I want to do my best to keep on adding to it and make the school proud."
Gonzalez plans on studying agricultural business while playing tennis at LCC.
