Big Leaguers Drop Opening Game of World Series

By KGNS News

A group of Laredoans are representing the Gateway City this weekend at the Little League 17 & 18 year old World Series. The big leaguers were taking on the West team out of Anaheim, CA earlier this afternoon.

It would be tough going for the offenses early, Laredo would load the bases in the 2nd, but could not push a run across. From there the team from Anaheim would settle in and score two in the 3rd, then add runs in the 4th and 5th.

Laredo had a difficult time with starter Ryan Hartman, who was able to record 12 strikeouts against the local team. The kids from the Gateway City would end the game with runners at 2nd and 3rd, but the bullpen for the California team would hold. Laredo's next game will be Friday against the team from the Southeast region.
