The boys basketball bi-district round of the UIL playoffs are now in the books and all three Laredo teams were able to move on after convincing wins the past two nights. We now know the fates for the area round, starting with Alexander, who will face off with McAllen Rowe on Friday night. AHS will take on a Rowe team that has been one of the toughest in the valley all year and finished the season as the #1 boys team in that area according to RGVSports.com.
United will get a rematch of last seasons regional quarterfinal round as the Longhorns will take on Harlingen South. In last seasons game, United was able to beat the Hawks by 12, moving to the semis. In the same RGVSports rankings, Harlingen South came in at number 5.
Finally Nixon will take on Victoria West in the Area Round, as they look to continue their winning streak, which sits at an amazing 23 games right now. The Mustangs are currently ranked 19th in the state for all 4A schools as they head into their game Friday night.
