Big changes taking place today within the Laredo Bucks ownership group, as a new face has stepped forward to lead the franchise. Lifetime Laredoan Gustavo Hernandez announced today that he will be taking over as the new majority owner of the Bucks.
He became a minority owner this past season when the team offered potential investors the chance to buy a stake in the team. With owner Glenn Hart spending much of his time away from Laredo, the decision was made to sell the majority stake in the franchise to Hernandez and his group LRD Sports Ventures.
Both Hernandez and the current Bucks front office feel this will only help the team going forward.
Hart will still have a small stake in the team, but will not be involved in the day to day operations. The Bucks are back on the ice tomorrow night against the Arizona Sundogs at 7 pm.
