Bulldog's go to Familiar Name for QB

By KGNS News

Week one of the high school football schedule is in the books and one major development to come down is a new quarterback for the Alexander Bulldogs. While the QB is new, the last name is a familar one to those that follow high school football in Laredo. Aaron Swain, the younger brother of Brian, took over the reigns and proceeded to throw for 376 yards and two TD's as the Bulldogs defeated the Zapata Hawks 60-7.

For coach Joel Lopez it came down to being a matter of Alex Bryand not being as comfortable as they had hoped. "Alex had been away from the position for too long and there wasn't going to be enough time for him to be able to feels comfortable. We felt that Aaron had just got done playing quarterback for us last year and has done it for the last three years, so we thought he might feel a little more comfortable there."

Swian and the Bulldogs will get a test this Friday as they travel to the valley to take on the Sharyland Rattlers.
