Laredo's first son of the NBA is back in town for his fifth annual basketball camp this weekend. Kaleb Canales will host his Assist-13 camps beginning tomorrow at Alexander high school for kids between the ages of five and eight. Saturday will be back at Alexander from nine to three for kids from nine to 13 years old. Canales will host a camp for incoming freshmen on Sunday at Alexander before finishing his string of camps on Monday with one for the youngsters and another for the nine to 13 year olds at Martin High School. Today he spoke to KGNS sports about what it means to him to give back to the Laredo community.
Canales had spent the past seven seasons with the Portland Trailblazers but will be coming back to the lone star state this year as a member Rick Carlise'ss staff with the Dallas Mavericks.
