Controversy continues to stem from last weekends regional quarterfinal game between Sharyland and Eagle Pass. In that game the Eagles won in extra innings thanks to a bases loaded balk. The Rattlers have claimed the Eagles did not go through the proper channels to secure umpires and has taken the matter to UIL and now it seems it could go to the courts.
The superintendent of Sharyland schools wants the community to stand up against these alleged actions. "My hopes are from this point that the community would stand up and make a statement in eagle pass and let them know this is not something that they tolerate or that they condone and that they justly punish this coach to what he deserves."
Dr. Richtar went on to tell KRGV that she does not expect the courts to overturn this but that they are sticking up for their kids. Eagle Pass is scheduled to take on San Antonio Johnson in the other semi final series beginning tomorrow.
