EJ Garcia Signs to Play D-1 Baseball

By KGNS News

It's a day every high school athlete dreams of, when they get to put their signature on a National Letter of Intent, to play their sport at the college level. Today it was EJ Garcia's turn to see his life change with a stroke of the pen, as the Alexander senior has made his decision on college. Garcia signed with the University of Texas at Pan-American in Edinburg to play baseball for the Broncs. While most students wait until the spring to sign their letters, Garcia says there was no point in waiting, since he already knew where he wanted to be.

"Pan Am is a lot like home. It's close by and the baseball club is great. The coaching staff is great. The field is awesome, the school is awesome, it's just a great school to go to.">>

"He's a great athlete in everything he's taken up be it baseball, football or track. And I've seen him grow up physically but mentally I think he's matured a bunch and I think he's ready to take on the college life."

While he will play baseball at the next level, Garcia is also a starting safety for the Bulldogs football team and they will be taking on Donna this Friday in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
