It was a rough Saturday night for the Laredo Rattlesnakes as they dropped their latest game to the Amarillo Venom. The match up was close going into the fourth quarter, and after a Damian Clark score Laredo only trailed by eight with 14:45 left in the game. Over that last stretch though the rattlesnakes were out-scored 27 -8, finishing the game on the losing end of a 76-49 final. Now with less than a week to prepare for their next home game the rattlesnakes say they have to put that loss behind them and concentrate on what lies ahead.
"The main thing is we didn't do what we were supposed to do. We didn't take care of business. We can't worry about what the refs call, what they don't call, what the fans do, what the other team does, all we can do is execute. Regardless of what calls they make it doesn't change anything."
"We gotta keep moving forward, our goal was to win a championship, I never said that we would go undefeated in doing that. We have to come back and try to be peaking at the end of the season so we can hit the playoffs at full stride."
The Rattlesnakes have three games remaining including one this upcoming Monday night against the Abilene Bombers. After a quick trip to San Angelo, they will return for a rematch with Amarillo in a game that could determine home field advantage through the playoffs.
