Alexander's EJ Garcia has been one of the best baseball players in all of south Texas and now he is being recognized at the state level, being selected to the Texas Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game. Garcia has been chosen to play for the south team in the annual game pitting the best from North and South Texas to compete against each other. The senior is only the 2nd ever Bulldog to make the team and the first since 1999 when Alex Cadena made the team.
For Garcia, he says getting the announcement from Coach Garcia was a great way to start his Sunday morning.
"I didn't know how to react, to tell you the truth I was half asleep. He called me and I was so pumped up after I ended the call with him. I told my parents and they were all happy about it, they already knew but didn't want to tell me. It's great to know that I'm a part of that team now."
Garcia will play on the South team made up of the best from divisions 4A and 5A.
