With the season just past the mid way point for the Laredo Heat, they sit in a prime position to make their move as the playoffs quickly approach. Currently the Heat sit in 3rd place in the mid-south division but all that could change over the next nine days as they will host the two teams ahead of them in the standings.
First up will be undefeated Austin, who is currently 8-0-1 on the season, including a 1-0 win over Laredo in their only other meeting. Laredo's next league game will be a week from Thursday against Oklahoma City, another team that was able to defeat Laredo by a single goal on the road. If the heat want to make the playoffs they know now is the time to perform on the pitch.
In addition to Wednesdays game where the team is offering free general admission tickets, the Heat are also hosting a soccer fest beginning July 4th, where three of the top under-20 teams from Mexico will be competing through Saturday.
