Laredo's newest sporting option never made it to the field as today the Laredo indoor soccer team confirmed they will not compete in the Professional Arena Soccer League. Five months ago the Rattlesnakes ownership group announced they would be bringing a team to the Gateway City. During that time the teams front office had a major shake up bringing in a new general manager. In addition to the personnel changes they held a name the team contest and the winner was the Diesel. That did not last long though as the team changed to the Honey Badgers only a couple months later. Now it was all for not, at least in 2013, as the team felt they didn't have enough time to properly get the squad off the ground.
While they won't be playing in 2013, the Honey Badgers did say they are committed to playing during the 2014 season.
