It is almost one year to the day that Laredoan Kaleb Canales stepped into the bright lights of the NBA world, being named the Portland Trailblazers interim head coach. During that time Canales and the Blazers finished 8-15 with wins over playoff teams like Chicago, Memphis and Dallas. The former Alexander Bulldog was named a finalist for the head coaching vacancy over the summer but former Mavericks assistant Terry Stotts would get the job instead. Many would ahve left the Portland organization following that decision, but not Canales who has stayed on as the teams lead assistant. The Blazers have been much improved on the court and Canales says this opportunity continues to be a great on for him personally and professionally.
