After it's opening being delayed by almost a full year, the golfers of Laredo have another option when they want to hit the links. The Max A. Mendal golf course is situated along the Rio Grande, just north of Laredo and will offer 18 holes through the forests and along the river. This will be the 3rd course in Laredo, joining the country club and Casa Blanca. It will be a par-72 course, playing at a length of just under 4,700 yards from the short tees all the way up to over 7,000 yards from the tips.
The architect of the course says it was designed for everyone in the city to enjoy.
"The golf course belongs to the city and when we routed the course, we took a lot of time to maximize the land and offer the operators of the city to have the youth teams from high schools, the university golf teams, beginner youth, seniors and everyone in between."
