It appears a former Major Leaguer will be at the Lemurs open tryouts this Saturday as today team owner Mark Schuester confirmed that 19-year MLB veteran Tony Phillips will be trying out for the team. Phillips is now 52-years-old and was last seen playing for Jose Canseco and the Yuma Scorpions last season.
Registration will start at 8:30 with tryouts kicking off at 10 am at TAMIU's Jorge Haynes Field. The team will also be holding tryout for national anthem singers Saturday from 1-4 pm, also at Jorge Haynes Field. For more information on both these events you can go to laredolemurs.com.
