Game one started well and got better for the Lemurs as they scored a run in the first and added three in the third before blowing the game open with six in the sixth on their way to a 10-4 win. The big blow in the sixth came from Mike Sheridan who blasted a grand slam in the inning. Greg Wilborn was solid on the mound, going all seven innings, giving up four runs and striking out nine.
Game two looked to be going Laredo's way as they struck for two in the first but gave up three in the bottom of the inning. The Lemurs came right back scoring three of their own in the top of the second retaking the lead. After adding one in the fifth and another run in the seventh, they entered the bottom of the seventh in control up 7-5. Unfortunately for them relief pitcher Mark Haynes would not record a single out as he gives up four runs, including a walk off three run homer. With the split and Amarillo's win over Grand Prairie, the Lemurs are a half game behind the Sox for the south division lead.
