The Lemurs are officially at the half-way point of their season and thanks to a recent surge have overtaken the top spot in the American Association's South division. Following Tuesday nights win, coupled with an Amarillo loss, Laredo now has sole possession of first place after a late June slide. The Lemurs came out of the gates on fire this year, winning their first ten games and taking a big lead in the division. While the winning slowed things continued to be good for Laredo until mid June and a road trip to Kansas that started a run of eight losses in ten games and saw the Lemurs fall to third place. Recently though they have seen things turn around, thanks in large part to their pitching, which has allowed four or fewer runs in each of their last five games, including a pair of shutouts. Now they have enjoy a day off before welcoming in last place El Paso for four games before finishing off their longest home stand of the season with three against St. Paul.
